I hate when Lakers fans still bitch about that veto. Stern and the NBA owned the Hornets at the time of the presumed trade, so they had to make the decision to let Paul go. They didn't like what they would get in return and didn't agree to it.

Duncan. He's been with the Spurs through thick and thin, has never had a season with less than 50 wins aside from the lockout rookie year, and has won 5 championships taking a patchy to stay with the team for another 2 years. Dirk is a solid second.
Why are players such as Wade, Deng, James, only signing 2 year contracts with an opt out clause for next summer?
Because there will be a cap space increase for all teams in 2016. That way after the two years are up, the players can sign for even more money.
