What I meant is the constant vilification of affection and love. Sex is considered a taboo in this country and is rarely discussed. Yet, the teen pregnancy rates here are one the highest in the world. Should thai people be more open to discussing sex and sex education?

You can also argue that siam giving away the lands of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos is a form of colonialism by Europeans. Thailand was annexed by Japan in the Second World War and the government and monarchy at that time worked as a puppet government for the japanese empire.
Thailand had never been colonized; so...my simplest response to that statement is...cares.
