Yep!! you can put your posts on queue. you can set how often you want the posts to publish via settings

idk I don't have many followers on tumblr but these are just things that I do
1) be active (reblog/post frequently)
2) don't post irrelevant things (if you're a grunge blog, don't post fresh. if you're a summer blog, don't post grunge) OFc you can be a mixed blog too la but yea try to stick to a main blog type
3) don't keep changing blog types/URLs. some blogs only follow a certain blog type and if they notice a change in your feed, they'll unfollow obv. as for url, some blogs may not recognise your blog and unfollow you.
4) be nice to ppl. you can drop your fave blogs asks, maybe to ask them to check out your blog? but don't do it too often and be sincere about it. also be nice and sincere when replying asks. don't ignore :-)
