What is the meaning of your name?

Isyana (Turkish): rebel
Adriani (Sanskrit? Greek? Italian?): I grew up believing my middle name meant "a wise young woman" in Sanskrit, but after finding out Hotel Adriani somewhere in Greece and that it's also a common Italian surname, I have my doubts...
Arslan (Turkish): lion

If you were really hungry, really exhausted, AND really gross, what would you do first — eat, nap, or shower?

Definitely shower. Can't eat let alone sleep with my body being sticky and smelly.

What is your favorite type of flower?

Rose, daisy, sunflower, tulip....the list goes on.
But I don't have green fingers.

Who can ruin our World?

How many options do I get?
Too many people but the ultimate world ruiner for me is any student that doesn't try hard enough...and those who think that just because they never skip my class and always submit assignments on time they deserve a glowing A.
No.
Just no.
I hope that makes sense.

What’s one fashion trend you hope to never see again?

Just one? How about 10?
Crop tops. The only crop top I had was the one I liked because because it was cute, but as an eight-year-old in 1991 I was always reluctant to wear that because it showed my tummy eveytime I lifted my hands. Can't believe some 23 years later they made a comeback in full swing.

Do you have a sweet tooth or a savory tooth?

My upper teeth are all savoury, my lower teeth are all sweet. Or is it the other way around? Anyway you get the idea :p

Who is the greatest cook you know? What do they make?

One of my aunts who's also my former host mother back in Auckland. She's a graduate of NHI which is Indonesia's answer to Le Cordon Bleu, so that speaks for itself. I especially liked her glutinous rice dish with durian sauce.

If you had to change your first name, what name would you choose?

Ha that's a toughie! While I like my first name (it's Turkish for "rebel"), if I were to choose a new first name it would have to be an elegant-sounding name that's probably Western but unpopular in Indonesia. My current favourite is "Cameron."

Top tune recommendation for the weekend?

Nine Muses' "Sleepless Nights" - I've been playing that jam on a loop for four days straight.

Is there a documentary or book that really changed the way you thought about something?

Watched so many documentaries, read so many books, but I'll stop at one doco: "Paris is Burning." Give that a try.
You're welcome.

Would you rather be able to speak any language fluently or have the ability to talk to animals?

Animals freak me out, so I'd choose the former.

Where do you get style inspiration from?

A variety of people, as I like people-watching, but mostly from my three fashion icons: Jackie O, Mischa Barton and Jessica Jung.
