nah, I'm perfectly socializing with friends, they just say I don't "socialize" well with family. and no matter, how wrong they are, i really just can't even tell them. i'm really scared to confront them, so i think i have to sort of just do what they say.

My parents are saying that its causing me to be in depression, because i spend all my time alone, and they want me to move back to my home country for a few years or possibly permanently. they just dont understand that editing is the one thing that makes me happy, and i cant even stand up for myself
Have you tried talking to them about it reasonably explaining calmly that they are wrong for -insert reasons here-? Perhaps you can work out a balance between spending some time with friends and some time editing. It is important to do both, I simply have a lopsided balance due to the fact that 3/4 of my best friends don't live in my city.

IMO You meet the people you meet when you're supposed to meet them. Perhaps if you had met them before they wouldn't hold that special place in your heart simply due to different stages in life/emotional development. You met them because that was how things were supposed to be in that moment and they're precious because you met them exactly at that time in your life.
