I'm currently finishing my second year of uni studying English as a major and Professional Writing as a minor. Ultimately though, my career goal is to work in museums :)

It's an internship for a dinosaur museum in northern alberta! They want me to do a bunch of different stuff from like being an ambassador for public outreach to creating a guidebook for the museum and honestly lots of other shit too - the museum isn't open yet - it opens in september so i'll be around watching all the exhibits get installed and yeah it will be great!! im so excited!!!

First off: Nothing you do in grade 8 will count, but it will psyche you up into the right mindset to pwn high school! The best things you can do to get into college is get a high GPA, and volunteer at events, or organizations, and join clubs and student council, and just be involved in a bunch of different aspects around the school! That makes you a perfect candidate for the Ivy Leagues! Also take AP classes whenever possible!
In regards to 20$ dresses, I have no idea! I don't really order clothes online simply because a lot of what I'd love to wear doesn't fit, and I like to try things on before I buy - ordering, trying, returning is too much effort for me :') I might gamble on shoes occasionally from a trusted brand where I know my size, or a skirt online, but other than that I don't have much experience with online clothes shopping! They might be fine, or they might be really low quality!

First off, I totally understand the control thing, I myself have a few control issues and one of the hardest things to learn is that there will always be situations out of your control and that sometimes no matter what you do, no matter how hard you work, you will get the short end of the stick. It's part of being part of this millennial generation - we have to work hard to get anywhere and it's not guaranteed a payoff. I wish things were different but sometimes that's just life :C Guaranteed you can do better in high school: things do get a bit better in terms of popularity contests, well perhaps better isn't the right word. The dynamic changes. I can't really explain it, but almost everyone I know including myself has middle school catalogued as the worst schooling years of their life. I think you'll like the high school environment a lot more!
That dress is gorgeous by the way! But you're right: it is pricy for a dress for just a grade 8 graduation! You might want to spend a bit more money in grade 10 or 11 for a dress for prom, and then get a special one for graduation, but I'm sure you can find something just as lovely for less for this year :D It's always important to be unique: I know for my hs graduation, a lot of people forked out 500$ or more on fancy colourful dresses that I knew they would only wear once: I spent about 80$ on a gorgeous black classically-cut vintage dress and I know it will be something I can wear for years to come! Get something you love that's unique to you!
Also don't worry about the FCP mod thing! <3 It's not your fault your parents have such strict rules! I just need a helping hand because I'm getting busier myself so hopefully someone awesome will apply and give me the little boost of help I need! <3 It's mostly a planning for the future months thing! I mean, I want to be able to properly "Train" them to mod FCP questions properly so eventually they can take over my position as moderator!

Woa that dress looks gorgeous! One pro-tip that I will give you though from experience is that at dances, you //really// want something with straps. Strapless dresses are just like 600% hassle: way more hassle than they're worth. You have to keep pulling them up and making sure they aren't too low, and while they look great, it's a lot of bother and you're just going to be wanting to enjoy yourself w/o that added thing to remember to check!
