Thanks for the question. Students are expected to meet the promotional criteria in order promote to JC2. Students who miss the criteria by a little will be managed on a case-by-case basis. All the best for your remaining papers!

Hello, thanks for the question! We're afraid you've confused the promotion criteria, which is absolute and objective, with the criteria for continuing to offer 4 H2 subjects in JC2.
The promotion criteria is based on minimum overall grades for GP/KI and content-based subjects, as well as conduct grade, so the course you are in is not factored into promotion. Hope that clarifies things up! 😀

Hello! It is likely that subjects with a larger enrolment and a wider pool of teachers to have teachers specialising in H1. So the answer is yes, quite likely!
If the subject is one with fewer teachers in the team, the likelihood is much lower obviously 😁

Hi there, thanks for the question! You do not necessarily have to change a H2 subject to H1 subject if you attain a failing grade. This is ultimately based on your tutors’ recommendation and discussion with you!
Hello! I am a prospective student (JAE) and I would like to know the stress level of JAE students? I understand that most of the IP students are doing well academically (looking at the COPs for the three IP schools), hence, I would like to know of the JAE students in EJ are able to catch up? TQ!
Hello and thanks for your question! Hope you don’t mind if we reframe your question a little. The transition from secondary school to JC is a challenging one, whether you are from the IP or O-level pathways - the subjects you study at ‘A’ level will demand more critical thinking, application of concepts and rigorous analysis. So the stress is real and quite even for all! COPs at PSLE are certainly not going to determine how well you handle the academic rigour - a strong foundation at secondary level AND a willingness to stretch that are key. In that sense you don’t have to worry too much about the differences between JAE and IP, judging from the performance of our pioneer cohort. If you do join us, we’ll do our level best to give you the support - you will be a Eunoian first and foremost. Look forward to hearing from you. Hello, thanks for the question! The GP teachers tell us that Cambridge doesn't provide answers, only comments on the responses from the whole candidature that year.
The teachers suggest you look at other papers that they have crafted possible responses for - 2006, 2013, 2014, 2015 and our own Mid-Year paper. They aren't model answers per se, as Paper 2 is about employing reading and thinking skills to questions and texts to derive answers. You can use your metacognitive reflections for Paper 2 to check against your answers, or approach your GP tutor to see if you're on the right track 😉

Hello! Sorry for the late response. The breakdown for the overall mark is standard across all subjects: 15% CA, 25% MYE, 60% Promo.
For Biology CA: the CA (15%) is taken from the best 3 of the 1 practical test and 4 lecture tests, each 5%.
For Economics CA: choose the best 3 out of the 4 to make up the 15% CA (5% each).
The above info is reflected in the CA breakdown Mrs Woo / Mr Soh sent out a while back. All the best for the Promos!
