Why does the rank of Condit El drop from 9 (Houston Rank) in 2013 to 67 in 2014? What makes the big difference? Thanks

It is important to note that there are a lot of schools very close together at the top of the list- Condit Elementary is an A school above the 90th percentile for all elementary schools in Houston, which is commendable. Because the methodology has changed, this year's School Rankings are not directly comparable to previous years' results.

Pull up the report for the school you are interested in, and at the bottom you'll see a link to the financial data.

Could you please rank the charter schools by district? For example, my charter school is part of a charter school district that includes a middle school and my elementary school. thanks

Thanks for the feedback. This was our first year ranking traditional districts, and we are definitely thinking about the best way to include charter districts next year.

Why did you use C@R graduation rate for campus rankings and TEA 4 year graduation rate for district rankings?

We used the TEA graduation rate so that it would be representative of all campuses in that district, rather than based on the campuses that are included in our rankings.

What were total number of schools ranked by level (Elem, MS, HS)?

Statewide we rank 4,359 elementary schools, 2,062 middle schools, and 1,193 high schools. Then we break it out into smaller geographic areas, like Greater Houston and North Texas.

Hello! Do you have any detail on the schools within Wharton County? Right now, we have our daughter enrolled in private school b/c of the public school issues all around the county. Any detail would be appreciated. Thank you!

What does the RECOMMENDED HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM column on your ranking chart means? and why that measure wont follow the ranking order? Example: East Early college HS is ranked 7 in Houston but its RECOMMENDED HS PROGRAM is below Caney Creek HS which is ranked 121.

The recommended high school program was the most rigorous graduation plan last year, as opposed to the minimum graduation plan. Now the graduation plans have changed, and we no longer include this indicator in the latest rankings. Please check back soon for updated 2014 rankings.

The growth index is a measure of year to year improvement in standardized test scores. The performance index takes level of economically disadvantaged students into account.

Why none of the Plano school district schools are in the 2014 North Texas High School ranking? There are 6 high schools and 3 Senior Highs.
