Nee, nee. What's your favorite vocaloid song? Maybe I'll start with that one and dedicate it to you since you've really helped me know some basics. I'll try my best from now on. Thank you for your help, by the way. :) I really reallyyy reallyyy appreciate it, really.

No need to dedicate to me though! I'm just fine if you learn and improve on stuff. I'll be happy with that~ Ganbatte!
Though mostly my biases lean on techno / electro-pop songs wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Can you recommend a free mixing software that is easy to use and understandable? Because I think my software, Mixpad, is a bit uhh, simple? I mean, it us so easy to use but I can't pinpoint what's wrong. But it doesn't come out that I want it to be. What effects should I use and how? How, how, how?

Personally, I use FL Studio---- but it's also pretty much complex in a way that everything relies almost in your hands.
If you want a simpler software, I would recommend Adobe Audition since some of my friends use it. ><

Hi, there. Umm, you see, I really want to be an utaite, even just Youtaite. But I don't know how to begin. I'm pretty confidebt with my singing but my problem is I lack equipments and I'm an airhead when it comes to technology much more on mixing vocals. Any suggestions on how I should begin?

So if you are confident with your singing, then that's pretty much a very good starting point. Covers isn't all about mixing, but it's about your singing. Mixing only improves your vocals and the process is only done so that your vocals will fit into an instrumental---- something to make your whole cover thing sound professional-ish.
In mixing, you have to get a really good mic, as good as possible for it will affect the quality of your recording. And clear mics are easier to process and mix into a backtrack so it's important. Then, get a mixing software. I personally use FL Studio since I also produce/compose songs and it's pretty much my all-in-one audio creation/editing thing. But you can use things such as Audacity or Adobe Audition too.
Then, read tutorials about vocal mixing. Like, how do you apply these kinds of effects (e.g. equalization, compression, reverb, etc. etc.) , it will be better if you have one specific for your chosen software.
I hope I had helped! OAO

are you open for mixing collabs?

It's a situational yes. It depends on my availability since I have also pretty much a lot of stuff to do in academics and IRL stuff. But feel free to ask, anyway!

uhm,im really sorry for asking a lot T^T my usual problem in mixing is the vocals.. because it doesnt sit on the mix.. i mean.. the vocals wants the spotlight alone, what parts in mixing should I improve to let the vocals sit on the track?Im so sorry for asking a lot, i really want to learn mixing

Equalization, compression. Compression helps your vocals cut through the mix, equalization helps boosts some important portions (frequencies) of your vocals so it will give your vocal a better tone. Plus, you do need to equalize your instrumental music too. I do cut down the volume VERY LITTLE around 3000-4000 hz, then leave the rest of the freqs untouched.

uhmm... can I ask some tips in mixing for newbies and unexperienced mixers like me? thank you><

alphaicycle’s Profile PhotoAlpha Caspe
Tips. As for me, start with the basics. Compressors, equalizers and some reverb and also some kind of pitch correction softwares (e.g. Melodyne) ----- pitch correction stuff is a must (for me, at least!) You can get most of the vocal mixes done with these.
Then, um, practice, A LOT~ Experiment with your mixes, and it helps if you listen to a lot of music, you can compare the differences here and there. There is no exact formula for getting your sound right. They are all pretty much trial-and-error, so you have to play around a lot to get your stuff right. Experiences will teach you the best when it comes to mixing, so gather as much as experience as you can!
Last but not the least, it will be better to have someone critique your stuff. I have worked with some people who technically don't know how to do mixing but they have very good ears for it. I learn from them, and oftentimes, they can point out something that you've been missing the whole time. Because there are things that you can't see from their perspective.
Sorry for the long ass answers though. But I hope I've helped you in a way.

Do you believe in horoscopes?

I do believe in horoscopes in the way that it SORT OF matches with my personality traits, but not in the aspect of being able to predict my future using the stars.

Do you have a skype/a better way for people to contact you?! I was wondering you maybe wanted to do a collab sometime //; u ;

I don't give out my Skype username in public. Please do mention me on my Twitter instead~! @theamazingken is my handle/username~ We can discuss things from there! (And please do reveal yourself too //cries )

Hello Ken! Do you take mixing commissions? If you do, what's the best way to contact you?

I do take mixing requests, occasionally, depending if I have some free time. I'm not working as a mixer anymore but I would love to help from time to time~ I can be contacted through Youtube PM (/techniken02 ---- But please take note that I don't regularly check out my Youtube channel!) and Twitter (@theamazingken)~!
