hmm, as soon as i can read? my uncles and aunts are avid readers and i'm so happy i grew up in a quiet house where reading is encouraged and i pretty much didnt use to be picky i read whatever i can at that time.

i really tried talking to you on aff but you're not online most of the time. hmm, how did you get so good at writing? who are your rolemodels when it comes to style and so on and so forth?
i'm not T___T good, I mean i'm not as good as i want to be but i'm trying. wow uhm, at first i think you have to dissect your writing, analyze your dialogues and the style you have. uhm, find out what you're good at and what you're not. you might be majestic at descriptions but you're might just be so-and-so with interactions/relationships. so, try harder. read as much as you write. read CLASSICS. they're classics for a reason and idk why but i don't like reading bad writing i feel like it'll get to me. i have authors i really look up to and i try to dissect THEIR styles, i ask myself "what do i like so much about their writing?" and i try to incorporate what i like into my writing.
i think, i think everyone's thoughts / ideas is just a varied collections of others' thoughts. our brains are sponges in a way, so try to soak in all the greats you can :) as for authors; L.M Montgomery is my childhood, Lemony Snicket, Fitzgerald, John Connoly, Sidney Sheldon, Tod Williams, Nabokov, Kafka, Patricia Cornwell, Paulo Coelho, Lee Child, etc :)
