Im not good at reading sheet music and am too busy to take scheduled lessons so I learn most of my music by ear. Knowing this could I still become as good as you and maybe even become a musician as my job?

That depends on a lot of factors. To be a musician full time means you can support yourself financially. It will take a lot of time, but if you enjoy being a musician, then it should be worth it.

I was wondering...how many years have you been playing piano and when do think you were able to play it very well?

I've been playing for 9 years now. And I think there's a formula that you need 10,000 hours to be an expert at something. But I have to say, even though I'm getting close to 10 years of piano experience, I feel that I'm just starting out. There's so much more to learn out there.

I downloaded the videos for the covers of yours that I like and turned them into mp3.... I wanted to ask if that was okay .__. And uhh... if it is, I wanted to ask for an album name to put them under, hahahahaha

NO YOU CAN'T
Nah, of course you can. And a name, hmm... how about "ZA ISHITAH"?

First of all, just wanted to say that you have truly inspired me to keep getting improving in my piano skills and not giving up. You're the reason I ended up re-finding (I don't think that's a word -.-) my passion for the piano. I wanted to ask you where your hometown is in the Philippines? :D

I grew up in Marikina, SSS Village to be exact.
Man, even just that name is nostalgic.

Hi ! I love your work! I really Want to play tabi no tochuu (spice and Wolf) but i need the midi file, can you do that please ? Because your last version is amazing and i can't play with my left hand by ear or Read sheet music :,( Btw i play a lot of your transcription <3 thanks a lot mister genius

Lulu, Biche
I must apologize, I don't keep the MIDI files of my performances. They're mostly done with after I have recorded a piece...
I do recommend learning how to read sheet music though. If you'll be playing the piano for the rest of your life, a few months of learning sight-reading basics is basically nothing in comparison.

aiyah it cut out the last of my question OTL uhh I don't like any of the pieces to choose from for Grade 8 (ABRSM) so I end up always practicing stuff I like rather than what I should... Is there any advice you could give about that? Or do I just have to man up and get practice over and done with?

A much better method is to try to find something to like in those pieces. When you hear them, can you imagine a story? Or when you listen, can you imagine characters in a story like in an anime?
If you do that, then you'll be able to connect better with the music and thus you'll enjoy practicing them more. ... or you can just man up and get it over with if you want.

I think the only true way to show thanks is to make Uryuu Minene a real person. Please do your best. She's mine, btw. Any advice for someone who's hand length can barely reach 9 keys? ;_;

Minene best Mirai Nikki character ;__;
Having short hands isn't that much of a disadvantage as long as you can play octaves comfortably. Use your small fingers to your advantage: it does better with scales and runs!

Ano~ I've got quite a few questions ^^" I've been stuck playing Grades all my life, so I haven't been able to break away and learn about improvising, arranging, or learning by ear etc so I wanted to ask for idk, tips or advice or something because I play like a robot... *relies HEAVILY on sheet musi

Give it a shot. The thing with improvisation is you need to let go of the shackles of straight up sight-reading. You can both have the skill of strict sight-reading and improvising.
With improvising, it's all about trial and error, experimenting, and testing new techniques, new sound, new types of playing. Once you have those basic mindset, it will come together the more you experiment with new ideas~

I've been learning your Theme of SSS transcription for a little bit now and have mostly all completed except bars 23-24. Any tips on how to play that? It's the only part that's keeping me from recording. Also, I'm almost done with your Tabi No Tochuu piece then plan to move on Vogel Im Kafig ^_^

Nice work, even I had trouble with Theme of SSS arrangement lol.
Alright, I recommend having your hands very relaxed in bars 23-24. Your fingers stay strong, but your arm muscles are very relaxed - you can't have it tensed up or you'll waste too much energy as well as possibly hurt your muscles. Practice at a very slow tempo until you can play the notes evenly. Then increase the tempo further and repeat the process until you reach the appropriate tempo. Good luck!

I always loved the original compositions of the anime songs that you play, but whenever I hear your versions I truly get inspired. I'm am also a piano player, but your level of playing is beyond me. I'm better at playing guitar to be honest :P Now the question: what is your favorite anime OST ever?

It's hard to pick, but the latest OST that I really love is Gatchaman Crowds OST.

have you ever thought about an improvisation about "Shining in the Sky" from Clannad? Btw I really like your arrangement style, good job bro !!!

I'm learning a couple of Clannad songs at the moment (I can't say why though, not yet at least~)

did u ever had a "rejection" of yourself?

I'd like to think that I'm psychologically stable :P
But yes, I've been through an immature stage of life (maybe I still am), so I've had the desire to be someone else due to my lack of confidence. But I'm more or less past that mindset.

Could you list some classical composers and specific songs to listen to? :3 I always wanna try and listen to classical but I'm a person with OCD and can't have singular songs in my iTunes as well, and I don't know where would be a good place to download classical music from =_____=
