as someone who is also majoring in philosophy may I ask why is jessie a nieztsche anti
In short, in my personal opinion, a lot of what he says in Thus Spoke Zarathustra is pretty off putting and pretentious? I, in general, am not a big fan of people who think that they've reached some sort of higher intellectual enlightenment and that makes them part of a superior class of people, which Nietzsche really stresses with the overman (or superman depending on the translation). A lot of philosophers do this, but I think Nietzsche took it to a whole other level, claiming that living amongst the non-enlightened is like walking amongst animals, or how it's not the job of the enlightened to shoo away dayflies etc. It's like he came up with his own definition of what it means to be enlightened and then sees himself as a special because he happens to meet the requirements of being one.
He also says things like God is a conjecture, but also that God is dead, or things like God/Jesus' greatest weakness was their love for humanity and how Jesus would have lived if he'd just gone to live in the forest, essentially, away from society? Which, it doesn't matter if you're religious or not but it seems like a stretch to be making claims about something's weakness if they're just a conjecture of the human mind (also defeats the entire purpose of God/Jesus). I liked his point about the camel, lion, and the baby, but pretty much everything after that the only thought I had when reading Zarathustra was just how much I disagreed with him on a lot of points, but keep in mind that's just my personal opinion on him and Zarathustra. Maybe you have points about him I hadn't considered? Everyone has their own opinions, and i think that's great! If you have any other questions, please let me know~
