Give me a nice preset setting tone for an evh head. Greetings from vzla!

I've honestly not had the most experience with the EVH heads, although the leads on Instinct we're all done with an EVH head. You can never go wrong with the 6/6/6 method - turn everything to 6 and dial it in from there

I've been slacking with my right hand and now it's retarded and can't keep up with my left. What should I do? Also, do you have any tips on learning songs? I have huge problems trying to remember songs and "get" or understand patterns. I get frustrated and I quit. Love you guys <3

Well the first step to this whole situation is to address the very last thing you said, besides "love you guys" because I love you too - but the thing before that, "I get frustrated and I quit." The first thing you need to do is understand that life is a series changes that no one can predict. But what you can do is play a roll in how those changes play out - and time is your best friend here my dude. With focused practice you can tackle small goals each day and before you know you've got change on your side and you're a stronger player and person because of it. Without that understanding your frustration and anxieties towards rapid growth will hinder your efforts, I promise you that. I was stuck there for a long long time my dude.
Now, to address your specific issue - the problem isn't that your left hand is better then your right, it's that they're not synchronized together. You need to start looking at the smaller details of it all and how it all links together to make several different mechanisms work as one fluid motion in one machine. I have a huge amount of exercises and concept ideas based on what we're talking about and I would love to get into it more with you. europe soon?

Most definitely... Europe is always one of our favorite places to tour in. The energy from the crowd is just at a whole new level there, the history is so rich, the daily adventures are unforgettable and you have such amazing fucking food everywhere we go... all of that always has me looking forward to coming back. Can't wait to do it again

What string gauges do you use?

For my drop C guitars I use Dean Markeley Blue Steel .11-.52 and for my drop b I use the same gauge but throw a .56 on the bottom to tighten up the tension a bit. For all my solos in drop B I actually like having the higher end strings having a little less tension on them so I can get a little more slippery with my bends and vibratos, and for my solos on the drop C guitar I prefer to muscle my way into bends... just causes different emotions and forces me to be more in touch with my guitars in the moment instead of relying on muscle memory. It's a cool challenge to have to use my ear in a live setting as opposed to relying on feel - though at this point it is a bit of both since I've gotten so used to the different feelings in the two tunings we use.

would you ever play an LTD 7 string guitar?? and what do you think about them?

ya for sure I would play one, we've worked with ESP for years now and I can definitely say that I am a fan of there instruments. I'm not much of a 7 string guy honestly but when I do play them, I know that ESP and LTD have put together some really nice pieces

Best guitar for under $500?

Ooo that's a tough one... I've played some pretty sweet LTD models for around that price if i'm not too mistaken?

Where would you wish to wake up tomorrow?

Where do I want to be when I wake up tomorrow? Hopefully still in my body, in the same place I fell asleep the night before, cultivating the same positive thoughts I planted the day prior, hopefully fulfilling plans and obligations I had previously arranged, and still smiling. My point is, I don't want to be anywhere else other then where I am right now. Do I want a better future? Sure. But it starts right now.

Who were your inspiration growing up as a child.

My inspirations growing up as a child would probably be my parents, my grandfather, my uncles, and anyone else willing to stand up for what they believe in and go against the grain to achieve it.

What would you recommend to a teenager who cant speak to his crush?

Well I guess that comes down to what you want to say to her and why you can't say it to her in person? Is it because of a physical limitation in your way of you seeing her, or is it more because of mental limitations like worrying about her reaction? Either way, the best thing in the world is communication. Through it, wars can be solved, lives can be saved, and love can be shared. Tell her how you feel - if she isn't having it then she won't get anymore from you... but what if she reacts positively? How incredible would that feel? Maybe instead of walking around with the fear of reaction, put forth your intentions on receiving a positive reaction into the air. Let go of expectations and just feel good about it, no matter what happens. At the end of the day you'll at least get the weight of all of this off of your chest right? That'll be worth it for sure

hahaha well the use of the term in the ABRB camp is like a whack-ass attempt at an idea.
For instance you may have heard some of our "booty demo" songs that have leaked haha those are ones that we've done on home studio recording rigs. Kind of a stupid saying but it was born awhile ago within the family and kind of just stuck around

I smoked weed for the first time with ABRB in Mexico City. I didn't knew shit about it, I just did it. I was 15. I just remember that everything was funny as shit, then I realized what I have done and panicked. It was fun btw. excuse my english. I love you and I hope you come back soon.

Never. Although this question is clearly a joke, suicide isn't. I've been there, and I've helped people who have been there as well. Suicide is never the answer, and I know what it feels like to think that it is the only answer. Shit is real and this is not a topic to be fucking around with.

hahaha this question right here. You win my friend. I don't think the word wardrobe has ever come out of my mouth to be honest. And sadly I don't know anyone named Ralph, but I've known a few Laurens in my day. One was even a guy. Go figure.

whats a good scale to learn?

Honestly man, all of them and none of them. When learning music theory you often times learn the rules so you can ignore them, break them, or bend them. In martial arts for instance you go from no form, to form, back to no form. As in you know nothing but your natural state of being, then you train tirelessly to master your craft, then the craft lives inside of you without thought - your natural state of being IS the form. That was me taking the long road of metaphors to explain that depending on where you are now and where you want to go - that will determine what puzzle pieces you need now. Believe me dude, "a" scale is only a fraction of the puzzle piece on the grand scale of the puzzle itself. The art of playing guitar and being a musician is an endless road, one that's definitely worth exploring. Fan of ABRB a good time, and as in some other bands, I realize that many songs have the same rhythm their musical introduction and etc.. I wonder if at Ground Zero, we can expect beyond the sound heavier bass already said by you, new techniques compared to drums and guitar? Thanks

Totally understand what you're saying and have thought that myself for years. This new
Album has far more variety and each song has so many memorable parts and distinct intros that I don't think it will succumb to the same issues as the last records. I mean, granted we are a metal haha there's still some typical drum fill intros and guitar slides haha how could we call ourselves a metal band with a guitar slide?! But all in all, I think you and everyone else will Br pleased with what we've done on this album. It's vast in dynamics and in terms of what it says musically... Eclectic might be the word I'm looking for.
