what are you afraid of?

No-deal Brexshit could cause me to be out of a job by Christmas, homeless & hungry by Easter. It's an absolute nightmare. Longer term my fear is that if it's only very bad, but not an absolute calamity, the government will herald this as some huge success and persuade enough people to ignore those who suffer as a consequence as there aren't too many (not too many for suburban lower-middle-class conservatives, that is).
They will say the fearmongers are wrong because there's only a bit of a recession!!? And will I fear successfully blame 'foreigners'.

What items do you always carry to your bag ?

Phone, wallet, bottles of water (I fill old juice bottles with water to keep hydrated during my walks- I would never buy a bottle of water as it's a waste), notebook, books, ipod, ipad, portable radio.
It's quite a big manbag to fit all this stuff in but I use all of it and I'm more often out than in so I need it.

What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Go for a walk in the morning, and in the day either visit my girlfriend or buy good food then read The Economist and a book, & eat the food afterwards.
Not being at work ensures that I relish most weekends!

What are u doing today?

Right now, listening to the archers and chilling out!
Earlier on, cycled to https://www.staffsmoorlands.gov.uk/article/890/Ladderedge-Country-Park , did my voluntary work there, cycled back, ate, watched the Andrew Marr Show & Countryfile, now got the archers on & playing some Bobby Dylan later.
Tired & trying to avoid thinking about going back to the office tomorrow, but I've had a useful day!
Here I am at Ladderedge another time, after clearing a load of himalayan balsam.

When was the last time you spent an entire day without your phone? What did you do?

I didn't have a phone after entering a signal-free zone two weeks ago

And didn't miss it at all for a week!
But when it was stolen the very day I got back, I had no phone for a week and that was much, much worse. Because in Glen Affric I was with friends and could do without the outside world. But here, if I want to meet my friends, family or girlfriend, I do need a phone for that.
I agree technology is overused but that comes from the mistake of treating it as a master rather than as a servant. If not used excessively it certainly has its uses and anyone who tried to do without one (in these days of scattering round) would find interactions with real people harder, not easier.

Can you Confirm or deny rumours that you're a legend

At 8am tomorrow I will go to the Highlands of Scotland and have no Internet. So I will probably not respond to any questions sent in the meantime as I will be exhausted when I get back. No hate mail or death threats please? Get a hobby that doesn't involve giving me shit

Depends on the season. I like to harvest blueberries from a bush and bake with them, and apples from my tree :)
