Also it isn’t inspiring because I don’t like to hear its message, but it is VERY true in all times and places that “ he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath”.
I was just thinking about this when paying into the share scheme at work. Of course I have more than someone who doesn’t have such a thing, or someone who doesn’t have a job at all. But my manager, who pays in ten times what I pay in (£100 a month against £10) will get more than ten times what I get out at the end. So it is just this iron law of life!

What’s your favourite food?

A three course meal would go as follows.
Leek & potato soup and low gi bread & butter.
Roast lamb dinner.
Sticky toffee pudding.
Washed down with a shot of amaretto and a bag of herbal tablets. (Midlands thing).

Cycling!
Sadly not much competitive cycling this winter, but I’ll be tuning in as soon as the Giro d’Italia kicks off!
I support British athletes and hope that Pidders, or one of the Yates brothers, or another one of ours goes all the way in the Tour de France this year.
But whatever happens on the podium, it’s always exciting!

Anywhere that doesn’t take cash. I have cards and use them, but I don’t want to go somewhere that discriminates against older and poorer people who don’t, or who choose to pay in cash because it helps with budgeting.
In this way, I avoid overpriced hipster outlets that I’d be unlikely to enjoy anyway.
Also, anywhere with a hygiene rating of 2 or lower.

The 3rd Monday of January is often called “Blue Monday” here in the West. The term was coined in 2004 by a psychologist who claimed (without scientific evidence btw) that it was the most depressing day in the year. So how has your day been today? I hope all your spirits are in reasonable shape 🙂👍

When on a huge cannabis overdose in April ‘22. I was partly awake and partly asleep. I went from burning in hell to being eaten by worms, then I dreamed I was in prison because I was a murderer, and all my family were against me because of my crimes.
I remember at the very beginning of my trip, the sane part of me told me not to leave the room and that asking for help would do more harm than good. Three hours later I was opening a window (it was below freezing outside), drinking water and falling asleep without dreams.
That morning, instead of going for a long walk around Lake Tahoe (which is where I was), I went for a short walk, rested, went for another short walk, and once I’d done my exercise/rest, had a normal day!

Yes, I believe in a conspiracy.
I believe that Putin and his henchmen meddle in western countries and in other countries. They ‘helped’ bring about Brexit, Trump is fully under their control, and using false claims about ‘anti-imperialism’ are building an empire in Africa, using the Wagner Group, which still exists although Putin had its founder killed.
Because they only care about their own power, they want to undermine the west, which all right-wing ‘patriots’ are doing, but they’ll also sponsor anti-vax ers & even rioters who seem to be the opposite,but (horseshoe theory) all have at least one thing in common, and its that they were made in Moscow.

Late September and early October, when not raining.
I made my first four trips to the highlands of Scotland in this weather and it’s just ideal for me, as I made so many memories and because I dislike hot and cold weather alike.

I was born in 1985 so it seems you’re talking to me.
I do find it odd that SOME boomers use ‘millennial’ to describe how they hate young people, when the oldest millennials are now in their 40s and the youngest aren’t especially young.
Also, SOME zoomers will talk like you to try and make themselves look interesting, though I can assure you that you’re not. (I don’t mean most zoomers as most of them aren’t judgmental and terminally online, just like most boomers aren’t entitled bigots, so I don’t judge anyone by their age).
So have a meme just for you ;)

You mentioned that you were going to meet your brother and his family around New Year's, as I understood it. Did you have/are you having a good time with them?

The meet hasn’t actually happened yet as my parents had covid last week but it will be tomorrow so we are going to the pub & eating curry so that will be good, if my niece (3) is in a good mood!
