If I'm protecting someone from someone else, and being “mean” is the only option, you bet I will. But it would have to be a safety issue, like a friend being harassed or something. I don’t interfere with people’s regular life decisions.

Patience, practice, and the right tools can make it happen. I had ZERO artistic talent growing up, only a desire to learn. My motor skills are below average, and I did it. 👍🏼

I booked three weeks of training at Bob’s workshop, twice. In total, I trained there full time for six weeks. It required a temporary move to Florida, so it was expensive. I received certifications to teach landscapes, seascapes, and florals. They take it very seriously and do not permit non-certified artists to teach a Bob Ross class. Their legal department is really something.

I think people who meet me today would be surprised to know that I was a holy roller in my younger days. I’ve read the Bible many times, used to memorize scripture, used to teach classes and write devotionals and poetry. I grew up in a hyper-religious atmosphere that was very controlling and damaging. I still have a lot of therapy ahead of me to deal with it all.

I worked a Mark Lowry show when I was 19. I used to be involved in Christian radio, and met a lot of popular artists from the 90s. Mark was one of them. I’m not sure if he still does comedy, but he used to. I also saw several other comedians who visited churches back in the day. I don’t care for it that much, although I like to laugh. Most of the ones I encountered weren’t very nice.
