What does "ship" mean? I've seen it on a bunch of theatre related posts and don't get it
It means that you pair up to people/characters that you think should be a couple. (Ex. "I ship enjonine (Eponine and enjorlas) means I think they should be a couple!)
I don't. But we are all theatre accounts so there's bound to be some similarities.
Hi! I know it could sound weird sorry! I'm a "new'" singer I'm allergic and I have a lot of mucus in my back throat I sound so nasal and my voice could be brighter...What can I do? Any tips? Thank you :)
STEAM! Use humidifiers, ricola lozenges, Claritin, zertec, hot showers
Rank these shows in order of preference: Chicago, Pippin, Matilda, The Book of Mormon, Rock of Ages, Newsies, Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, and Kinky Boots.
Les Miserables Newsies Matilda Pippin Jersey Boys Chicago Rock of Ages Kinky Boots Book of Mormon :) no hate
What are some musicals, aside from Les Miserables, that don't have any dancing in them?
The following all only have small amounts of dance: -phantom -miss Saigon -Sweeney todd -Wizard of Oz -Little Shop of Horrors -Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat -Oliver But the amount of dancing in ALL musicals depends on the director and his/her vision for the show
I've always had this thing with people acting like talking animals... Always have
I have to memorize a song I hate for an audition and I can't change the song because it's required for the audition. Advice? I really don't like the song :/
Either learn the song and try to get into it, or dont audition
Do you have posters on your wall?

Why is this the question of the day? Ask.fm's a creeper now
I'm auditioning for Hairspray in a few months. I really want to be Amber, but I'm usually type casted as the sweet innocent one (like Dorothy and Liesl) . Any tips on how I could prepare for the audition to show them I can do more? They pick the audition song, so I can't use that to help. Thanks!
Go in as the character. Now don't take that to mean be rude or snotty. Just take the material you are given and perform it how amber would.
Audition song for Mary in Secret Garden?? She's a mezzo and she's about 10-12 years old.
I actually had a callback for her this past summer! Maybe something Little Red sings in Into the Woods, Live Out Loud from the Little Princess, or In My Own Little Corner from cinderella, break a leg! Secret Garden has some Hard but beautiful music!
There's an audition I'm planning on going to in June 2014 ... Do you think it's too early to ask for a copy of the script?(They're sending copies to those who email them). Also, this is my first audition for a musical, I've only done plays.. Any tips? Thanks so much!(:
Of they are already saying they will send out copies of the script then I would get one whenever you feel like you need to start studying it! As far as tips go, be familiar with the story and the character you want to audition for. Choose a great audition song, and sing it with confidence. The best thing you can do for yourself is be prepared:)
Any advice for tech week? Mine starts tomorrow, with an 8 hour rehearsal
Get some rest (whenever you can!), stay healthy! (Vitamin c, ricola lozenges, throat coat), practice!
Hi I'm 18, I've always wanted to be a theatre actress, but now I can chose what I want to do my parents obliged me to study a degree but I don't want. I'm afraid when I finish it if I want to be an actress it's too late What do you think??
It's your life so you need to choose what you want to do. Respect your parents choices though. Maybe while your working on this other degree you can still take classes that will prepare you to pursue a career in theatre. It's never too late! Best of luck!
If a guy ever sang Unchained Melody to me from Ghost, I'd date him right on the spot. x)

I'm putting tickets to a Broadway show on my Christmas list. I either want to see Pippin, Matilda, Kinky Boots, or Chicago. I doubt my parents will get me tickets to all of them...if they only agree to get me tickets to one show, which show do you recommend?
Pippin or Matilda!
Do you want to be famous?
