Want to make more friends? Try this: Tell us what you like and find people with the same interests. Try this: + add more interests + add your interests

what is the differences of make and makes? can you give me an example? thank you

"Makes" is the singular present tense form (except for "I" and "you"):
- Jo makes the best cookies.
- The young student makes many spelling errors.
- She makes us smile every day.
"Make" is the plural present tense form (except for "I" and "you"):
- I make friends easily.
- You make sculptures for a living?
- We make a mess every time we meet to watch movies at my house.
- Their rude comments make me angry.

"Like the glutton that I am, I ate 3 boxes of pizza." ???

The sentence is correct. (The only thing you might do differently next time is turn "3" into "three.")

What does "not taking into account" mean? Thank you

It means "not considering something to be an important factor in some decision":
- It was unfair that you didn't get the job: they were NOT TAKING INTO ACCOUNT your extensive experience and qualifications.

what's the application you screen capture in your answer about surprise that misspelling?

On the Mac, it's CMD-SHIFT-3 to grab the screen, then we use Photoshop to crop it.

What's the meaning of "one half of..."?? For example, the total assets of X Company are $800,000 and its liabilities are equal to one half of its total assets.

"One half of" = 50% of.
Therefore, in your sentence, the liabilities of X Company are $400,000 (50% of $800,000).

I love her, she whom you've liked since elementary school, or I love her, she who you've been putting your love in since elementary school. which one is right?

"Whom" would be right, but an easier way to express that sentence is "I love the girl whom you've liked since elementary school." (Or "I love the girl that you've liked since elementary school.")

Ive a query. Tons of something or a ton of something? Sometimes people use it wrongly.

They're both right (but informal):
- I have TONS OF homework = I have A TON of homework.
This is almost exactly the same as LOTS OF vs. A LOT OF:
- I have LOTS OF friends = I have A LOT OF friends.
All of them are considered informal, so use "many," "much," or some other synonym instead in essays or other formal writing assignments.
