I personally think there's no such thing as 'quitting cosplay'. It's a hobby for you to enjoy and not an obligation for you to please others. Don't pressure yourself to finish costumes asap. It takes time, and it's okay if you take a rest. You have all the right to cosplay any time as you please. :)
What if this hobby cannot please me anymore? Haha! Nante ne~ Don't worry I actually take my time when I plan to cosplay someone. Some of my cosplays took years before I was able to pull them off haha! Thank you so much :>
