i actually really like megan not only does she seem like a really lovely person with a good sense of humour i love the way she rides, she's very quiet and has a really lovely position and im in love with the way that vegas goes :') hopefully spirit decides to sort his head out and be more cooperative soon!

What did you do today?

i went to the stables, i rode gruffalo and she went sooo nicely on the flat i was smiling like an idiot and she was just in general a pleasure to be around we had a cute convo (admittedly it was a bit one sided from me) and then i rode arthur and he went soooooooooooooooo sooooooo well i was like beaming then i went to turn gruff out and get bonnie in and bonnie was being adorbs and i was just thinking about how diff things are to when i first got her like she trusted me to let me throw roxy's 6'6 rug over her when she was a bit freaked by it just lying on the floor... then i saw abbey and it was great we had a beaut catch up then maundie came down and i groomed bonalon and i rode bonalon and she just made me smile so much ive missed riding her so much you dont even understand aaaah im just tooooooo happy rn! :D :D :D :D

ellen - meh
issy - ngl i think her riding has improved a fair bit since shes got her new instructor, but im still not a raging fan
gemma - i think shes improved since she moved yards, its nice just seeing her having fun etc and murphys flat work has come on a fair bit. obvs theres still a lot to be desired but she rides for fun and not for competing and shit so who gives a fuck really
ally - shes a very decent jockey, rides callie so nicely and i just think she comes across as a really nice and genuine person, however im not a fan of the whole leaning back and yanking on the mouth to keep herself balanced whenever they spook or whatever
michelle - dont really watch her so couldnt tell you

Do you like strong bits?

well if a horse needs something with a bit more to it then so be it, but personal preference for me is always something softer, i adore having horses in plain and simple tack :)

Why do you have Bonnie in a hackamore? Isn't it really strong?

basically long story short, bonnie had always been fussy with bits and i'd never found that she'd really settled with. she never relaxes her jaw like ever, even on the yard she'll doze etc but always be really tight lipped and such. then one day she had cut her mouth so obvs i couldn't put a bit in her gob but i wanted to carry on riding her so she didn't lose fitness. i put her in a headcollar and made a courageous attempt to ride her, and i found that she was INCREDIBLE in the headcollar. i loved her in it, things seemed easier but she was just very fast and running through my hands a bit which meant i needed something with more weight. my instructor agreed on the idea of putting her in a hackamore and lent me hers. bon was like a different pony, she was relaxed and responded to the gentlest hand aids. i barely touch her head with it so all it takes is a small tweak to really make her slow down if she's pissing around so dont cry about it
