Is it okay for a sikh to wear designer clothes?

yep if your not attached to them... ie you could give them up without a thought... like guru gobind singh Ji threw his gold banga away.

VJKK VJKF Ji, I get carried away with Kaam so much that it feels so embarrassing and shame to do nitnem. Please help.

Vjkk vjkfateh.
kaam is an energy... and energies can be changed from one form to another. so we need go change kaam into naam.
we can do this by japping naam and reading more gurbani but not less.
One way is via Amrit so you have made a commitment with the guru so he will help you himself. Also we need to accept and realise the power of Ardas Ji, it is so powerful that when within your heart you call for the gurus help he reaches out and takes us out of the mud.

Hey i was just wondering about 'the clashes of religion... why are some allowed to idol worhsip when we aren't and how isit possible for us to all connect if there's different rules. What about when they're was no religion... what will those people be judged on? And why was sikism revealed so late?

the worship of idols became ritualistic and if you look into siri guru dasam granth, it talks about the deities which enter this world and made the human population worship them instead of vaheguru.
the rules is a way to break down what we call the 5 chor ( 5 thieves) I.e. ego etc. They help us to stay in line and committed on this path.
There has always been a sort of religion on this world, so there's always been who move away and towards hukam (divine law)

VJKK VJKF. When we see Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on TV or screens are we meant to bow our heads as like if Maharaj was in our presence?

if you feel that inside you want to then go for it.... there were no TVs before soo this can be your personal choice ji

Why can't Sikhs eat egg? (I have seen a picture of one of the gurus with two eggs and roti)

never seen that tbh with you.....
because its a potential life form Ji... no need to kill it

What does sikhi say about naamtaris, should we even be talking to them?

keep Ekta with everyone Ji.... we believe one thing and they believe another.
a khalsa never strikes first with either kirpan or words Ji.

VJKK VJKF. As an amritdhari do you have to eat only from Sarbloh? Confused on this. Thank you

nope, but there is sarbloh rehit where some people do and make food only from sarbloh utensils Ji.

I feel some kind of energy on my forehead while reading gurbani :0

vah vah, keep doing what your doing Ji.... on the right path

VJKK VJKF. Who was Darshan Das? And is it right to call him or any human spirtual leader Maharaj as this is what he's followers and some Sikhs call him.

WJKK WJKF! Darshan Daas was a so called "leader," who showed disrespect to Guru Granth Sahib Ji. For us he's not a Maharaj.

VJKK VJKF. When listening to Ardaas at home via the TV etc do we touch the floor then touch our forehead?

VJKK VJKF! I think people do it out of Sharda (love/affection), remember Vaheguru is present everywhere ji.

WJKK WJKF. Bhaji, I'm forever getting judged when I goto a gudwara because I shaved beard. Although I have total respect for my elders, are they right in judging me?

WJKK WJKF! Its only Vaheguru's judgement of us that counts ji.

what happens after heaven

Heavens and hells do exist but they're just temporary ji. After heaven finishes then reincarnation cycle or whatever Vaheguru pleases. We cant express limits to this system.

Vvjkk vjkf, in rehetnama by bhai nand lal ji it is written that guru gobind singh patshah said we should circle 3 times around guru granth sahib ji and then sit with folded hands. but I have never seen anyone doing it. is this right? or the translation is wrong? and thanks in advance. (=

Hanjee - I think that Rehatnama is about doing 3 Pakarmey around Guru Ji every day - morning, evening, night (or whenever). Some Sharda-wale (loving) Gursikhs do this still. There are many Rehatnamey which we probably don't follow but should aim to follow.

What's the difference between e-hukamnama and the hukamnama we get from Guru Granth Sahib Ji ?

Nothing , guruji is ever present...

Why do I have goosebumps while reciting gurbani ? :|

vah vah, take it as something to learn from. when I get that feeling I look at the English translation and try apply it to my life and how I live.
But its a good a sign Ji :)

Gurbani kirtan, devotional music to God, dharmic movies would help develop pyar for Guru. But some amritdharis like to sing / listen to worldly music and watch worldly movies. Is this ok? How can these develop the pyar for Guru as most of these are full of love for women, lust, violence, etc?

That's not right ! If they're doing this then ask them why they're listening to such music and see what they say.
Instead of looking at those people, why not instead look at inspirational people that will help us - look at Baba Deep Singh Ji did 100+ Japji Sahibs a day and also Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale who did as many Japji Sahibs a day.

Khalsa Jeo, what is your view on Facebook. So many people attached to Facebook. It's Maya?

Its all about use ji. Our hands can be used for good or bad. Internet can be used for bad or for earning about Guru. Same way - if you use fb for Sikhi and inspiration its fine Jee. You'll know if your attached and abusing it ...

Thanks to responding to my last question (you said that I am Sikh since I'm researching the path and belief in the fundamental believes, wooohoo!). Where would you advise I go from here, how can I learn to meditate and do you recommend any resources and in particular the best translations of GGSJi?

I would advise you to find Sangat in your area, a local Gurdwara meet up and try and attend programmes, if not start something together. I would recommend you start Nitnem (daily routine), start with waking earlier than normal, having shower and doing simran of "Waheguru" and then listen and follow along in Romanized to Japji Sahib.
One cannot learn how to meditate properly on their own, Naam (Waheguru mantar) is only obtained from 5 Pyare when taking Amrit which with Guru's Kirpa who can be blessed with. English translations of Gurbani don't really do justice therefore l would recommend you start going through the 'Japji Sahib Katha playlist' on our channel. It covers the basics all in English ji.

How does one deal with having a bad experience with so-called "sangat"? Its led me to make some decisions such as cutting off A LOT of amritdhaaris I used to know, cos I wasn't treated very nicely by them.. but I've just found myself feeling slightly lonely sometimes. How do I deal with this?

Im-right-dharis... That's the state of a lot of amritdharis who judge others. Its kaljug ji!
Find sangat that show true love and you can only find them by Ardas for them. Sey piarey Mel jinha milliyan tera Naam chit aave, please bless me with the Sangat of those who when meeting I'll remember your name. We say this twice a day but do we mean it? Do Ardas from your heart and Guruji will listen if you truly want it. Remember we cant find Satsangat (true Sangat), its all a blessing.
Daas would recommend going back to the Sangat you cut-off with a loving approach.

I am a sikh who is trying to get back into the routine of going to the gurdwara in the morning and afternoon every weekend and whenever I go, there are certain members of the sangat that keep ridiculing me and saying that I do not come very often and now they wish to punish me for not coming.

Vaheguru - sad state of our Gurdwarey! Guru ji is testing you to see if you can overcome the obstacles, do Seva with love and show so much respect to the Sangat that they themselves realise your serious about your Sikhi now. If they still don't understand, then try explaining that you want to come back to this routine and you need their support. Do Ardaas that Guruji helps you ji.

How should one maintain their kirpan during ishnaan and after. Do you change the gatra cos it gets wet thank you

Personally I don't as i tie it over dastaar and it doesn't get wet, but if you need to you can...

Why is it some bibya wear a patka but some wear a dastaar yet Singh's shouldn't wear a patka only a dastaar?

That's a dhill (fall) in our Rehat ji. It was only about 50 years ago when the Akaal Takht Jathedar decided to change the Maryada for one Amrit Sanchaar to allow his wife to take Amrit without a Dastaar and that Amrit Sanchaar was packed so they kept it like that. Small falls in our rehat like this is the reason we have so many problems in our Panth now. Panj Pyare should tell men when you take Amrit to wear a Dastaar, we just have to accept their Bachan. As Khalsa we need to be Nyara (distinct) so that we can be spotted as the sons/daughters of Guru Gobind Singh Ji in a crowd.
