What should i do for my hair that has multiple curl patterns in it? While some products work for the top of my hair which is more of a 4a texture(yet wavyish) i believe, it doesn't work for the 4c which doesn't seem to stay hydrated.

why do relaxers destroy natural curls
Because these harsh chemicals are really strong & can melt a can of soda. Have you watched the movie Good Hair? They show you how it destroys hair.

Hey Shai! I live in Atlanta and plan to make an appt in March with you for the WORKS! I recently cut back on Shea moisture after reading your blog, & been using Jane Carter. Plan to purchase DevaCurl soon. How many washes does it usually take with DC to clarify all the shea butter?
@DevaCurl Low Poo works great for that. If you don't use products that create build up, you will be fine in no time. I see great results the first time. It should be build up free in less than 5 washes.

I've just had the Keratin Treatment on my hair... It's really controlled my frizz and I'm loving my curls. Should I keep getting it done? What is your thoughts on the treatment?
I'm not a fan of chemicals or changing curl pattern with heat, tools, or any other method.
Curls look the best when they're always in natural texture. Fighting or altering them will result in damaged hair that won't look good curly or straight.

Every time you are in the shower but only when you have conditioner in your hair!
You can try coconut oil on dry hair before you cleanse & see if you can separate with your fingers only.
